Why should guests visit your region and hotel this summer?
- STØTT: Top of Helgeland is a historic trading post dating back to the 19th century, beautifully located along the Helgeland coast, often described as Norway’s most beautiful coastline.
This is a hidden gem just a short boat ride from Bodø, where you can experience a unique combination of culture, history, and dramatic nature. There are activities both on land and at sea, offering something for every type of traveller.
What is your favourite place in the region?
- Without a doubt, the island of Støtt itself. It is a small island with a rich history and incredible views.
What is your favourite activity or experience?
- I highly recommend our guided fishing village walk. One of our experienced guides takes you through the history of the island, sharing stories about the trading post, the local community, and everyday life on Støtt, both past and present.
Any hiking tips?
- A hike to Rødøyløva is a must. It is one of the most popular mountain hikes along the Helgeland coast, known for its spectacular views. We are happy to provide maps or arrange a local guide if desired.
What local speciality should guests try?
- Seafood is impossible to avoid here in Northern Norway, but if I have to choose one dish, it would be our stockfish soup. We make it with our own traditionally dried stockfish, creating an authentic local flavour that guests should not miss.
