A Majestic Stay

Spend the night at the majestic Bårdshaug Herregård.

While studying in Switzerland, Christian Thams met a young Dutch baroness, Sarah Sybille Francoise Antoinette Elénore de Spengler. They got married on 25 August, when he was 19 and the Baroness 18. She was a beautiful, independent and modern woman with a keen interest in the arts, particularly song and theatre. During Thams’ many parties at Bårdshaug she was most interested in the cultural entertainment.

Stay in romantic surroundings from a different time in Baroness de Spengler’s room. The Baroness’s room is beautifully furnished with authentic furniture and a view of the manor park. There is a sink in the room, but no toilet or bathroom. Guests can use the grand bathroom on the lower ground floor, and there are several toilets in the manor.

If you would like to stay several nights in Orkanger, to experience the charming little town and its surrounding areas, a stay in the Baroness’ room can easily be combined with a stay in our modern rooms in the hotel.

Package includes:
· One night in Baroness de Spengler’s room
· A bottle of sparkling wine, chocolate and fruit in the room upon arrival
· Bathrobes and slippers
· Use of the royal bathroom
· Breakfast
· 3-course á la carte dinner in Restaurant Ministeren
