A primer in different architectural philosophies and styles
A venerable hotel dating from 1895, Grand Hotell Egersund provides a warm welcome in the heart of Egersund. Through different eras and in changing times, Grand Hotell has grown and flourished. Today, the hotel serves as a primer in different architectural philosophies and styles, with everything from dragon and Swiss-chalet elements of the late 19th century via 1930s functionalism to more recent modifications. Grand Hotell comprises 10 attractive buildings in the centre of Egersund. The town centre boasts many fine wooden buildings, most of them protected by law. The original property tells the story of herring fishing, the hotel business, and good and bad times going back more than 100 years.
Situated approx. 1 hour by car or train from Stavanger, the hotel is the perfect base for mountain and coastal hikes. The hotel’s fantastic staff will do everything they can to make your stay special, serving aperitifs in Grand Cafe and dinner in Grand Restaurant or Vinkjeller, the atmospheric wine cellar.
