At Ytri, calm days by the open sea are combined with meals inspired by the surrounding nature.
Your stay begins with the journey to the islands – from Bodø, Stokkvågen or Sandnessjøen – where the landscape gradually opens up before you arrive at a small community on the edge of the Norwegian Sea. Upon arrival on Thursday, you check into your room, where champagne and fresh fruit await.
On Friday afternoon, you are invited to a wine tasting with the hotel’s sommelier before the evening continues with a four-course dinner at Alma. Here, you are introduced to the kitchen’s expression, with ingredients from both sea and land – prepared with respect for season and surroundings.
On Saturday, the experience continues. In the greenhouse, you meet the head chef, who shares the ideas behind the menu and ingredients. You are then invited to Chef’s Table, where a 12-course menu is served close to the kitchen. A meal built on storytelling, craftsmanship and flavours you don’t encounter every day.
Throughout your stay, you have full access to Ytri’s facilities and activities. Start the day with a swim in the sea, warm up in the sauna, or spend time in the Arctic wellness area with hot tubs and the shoreline just outside. If you want to stay active, you can explore the islands by kayak, SUP, bike or on foot.
For those who want to experience the sea up close, we recommend freediving for scallops – ideally combined with a simple picnic outdoors. Lunch can be ordered from the hotel’s à la carte menu or taken as a packed meal for your excursion.
