Locally inspired dishes crafted with care

At Baroniet Rosendal, food is more than a meal—it is part of the experience.

Guests are served carefully prepared, locally sourced dishes in settings that invite conversation and culinary enjoyment, creating a sensory experience that lingers long after the last bite.

The Garden Café – A Taste of the Garden

In the heart of the Renaissance garden lies the Garden Café, a bright and atmospheric greenhouse filled with the scents of flowers and herbs. Simple, flavorful lunches are crafted from fresh ingredients grown in the estate’s kitchen and herb gardens, as well as from local producers in Rosendal and Hardanger.

The menu includes soups, salads, freshly baked breads, cakes, and refreshing drinks, all highlighting the best seasonal ingredients. When the weather allows, meals can be enjoyed outdoors in the garden, surrounded by buzzing bees and birdsong.

The Tea Room – A Quiet Moment

Located in the main building, the Tea Room (Havestuen) is an elegant space filled with history and atmosphere. It offers a glimpse into estate life as it once was—peaceful, flavorful, and closely connected to nature.

Guests can enjoy coffee, tea, and homemade cakes in refined surroundings, perfect for a quiet pause after a tour or a stroll through the garden.

Dinner in the Knights’ Hall

For those seeking a more formal dining experience, the estate offers dinners at Avlsgården. In the Knights’ Hall, three-course menus are served, inspired by local ingredients, seasonal produce, and modern culinary artistry.

Dinners are available by prior reservation and are especially popular among overnight guests. Each meal offers a taste of elegance and authenticity, deeply rooted in the natural surroundings.
