Enchanting Boen Manor
Situated a few kilometres from the coast of Southern Norway, you find the elegant and quaint Boen Farm. The estate was closed for the public until it opened its doors in 2012.
The history can be traced back to the 16th century when King Christian II owned the estate, along with the rich salmon fishery in the Tovdal River, which runs through the property. Today, Boen appears just as splendid as in its former glory days. The buildings, the park, and the outdoor areas have been restored. The main house boasts a new restaurant kitchen, while the interior has been remodelled in line with its original style, including furniture and art.
Boen is 80% self-sufficient with regard to vegetables, berries, and herbs. Lambs from the infields and wild salmon also constitute the raw produce. The elegant courses reflect the origin and distinctiveness of the raw produce.
From the 1st of June in 2020, Boen will offer 18 double rooms: 14 new rooms in the two historical buildings along the riverbank and four existing double rooms in the wings of the main house, in addition to unique meeting room facilities in the historical building called “Ishuset”.
