During the hiking season, from mid June to end September, the Jotunheimen mountain range is a wonderful destination with practically untouched areas, majestic mountains and snow-capped peaks.

Valdres can also offer beautiful, forest-clad hills in Begnadalen valley and Langsua – Norway's youngest national park, where you can enjoy wonderful walking and cycling over easy mountain terrain. You can come for a day trip or spend several nights.

And if you are a food lover, you have a treat in store. Valdres has an impressive bounty of local produce to offer. Fantastic cheeses, delicious cured meats, ice cream, soured cream porridge and the uniquely Norwegian rakfisk – trout cured according to ancient local traditions.

The people in Valdres are very proud of their valley. And when you see how beautiful the area is, you will understand why.
