Refsnes Gods was originally a country house, in regular use for parties and recreation. Over the years it has played host to many famous guests: the artists Edvard Munch and Hans Gude, King Oscar II and the feminist writer Camilla Collett, to name a few.
The distinctive main building with its two towers is just a stone’s throw from the Oslofjord, and the hotel has its own guest jetty. Refsnes Gods is particularly famous for its cuisine and well-stocked wine cellar.
It is also known as the ‘contemporary art hotel’, thanks to its unique collection of around 400 original works. Art adorns all the guest rooms and public areas. Our guests come here to enjoy food, drink and time together, to relax, and to be inspired by the art.
