Restaurant Curtisen lies at the heart of the Fredriksten fortress in Halden
In the middle of Fredriksten fortress in Halden lies Curtisen. The house was built in the style of empiricism in the 1830s after drawings by the famous architect B.N. Garben.
At Restaurant Curtisen they use regional ingredients from the rich pantries of Østfold, and embrace the history surrounding both the food and the drinks to complement it.
The restaurant seats 36 in two open rooms and 10 in the wine bar. The new Kommandantboligen ("Commanderʼs house") is available for parties, courses and meetings, and accommodates up to 120 persons. Here you will also find the wine cellar which can accommodate up to 12 people for wine tastings or aperitifs.
