A modern Nordic restaurant

BARE is a modern Nordic restaurant in Bergen. You can find the restaurant on the second floor of Hotel Bergen Børs, a historic building designed by Franz Willhelm Schiertz and completed in 1862. In February 2020, the restaurant became the first restaurant in Bergen to be awarded one star in Guide Michelin.

At BARE, you will find a team striving for perfection based on the very best ingredients available. Local produce is used extensively to create menus with food and drink in harmony. Alongside a wide selection of wines by the glass, there are plenty of local beers and cocktails to choose from. 

In their quest for the perfect dish, the dedicated kitchen team will explore and develop flavours based on the Nordic kitchen and ingredients sourced from the fjord regions. The multi-course menus change with the season and available ingredients, but the guests are always guaranteed an exquisite culinary journey that challenges, inspires, and surprises.

The restaurant has a five-metre-high ceiling and boasts views of Vågen, the harbour area, and Fløyen, one of Bergen’s seven mountains. But it’s the bar in the former hall of the chamber of commerce that really stands out, with its marble surfaces, glass walls and original wood carvings.
