"The Culinary Route" - East to west or vice versa

For generations, many of our member hotels have had a clear focus on providing guests with “a good meal”. We want to show tourists travelling the roads of Norway that our country has so much more to offer in the way of food than hot dogs and hamburgers.

We make use of the absolutely best local ingredients, the best local suppliers and aim to be perfect hosts, recounting the history of both the restaurant and the menu. Follow the “culinary route” and get to know the best of Norwegian food.

The hotels and restaurants selected for the “culinary route” have been hand-picked using the following criteria;

- A house menu based on selected local ingredients and dishes with local roots
- Seasonal variety reflected in the menu
- Menu presented and explained by a competent, passionate and motivated staff
- Wine list in harmony with the menu, and a selection of Norwegian aquavit recommended for the house menu according to taste

As you travel from east to west (or the other way), you will find that every meal is delicious but different. The places you visit represent Norwegian versatility at its very best. The landscape varies and colours all your sensory perceptions along the way, and these are enforced by the culinary delights served by our chefs, waiters and hosts.
