Selbusjøen Hotel & Gjestegård

Historic Accommodation in Trondheim, Norway

Havernesset in Selbu, the site of Selbusjøen Hotel & Gjestegård, has been a commercial property since 1850.

It was originally developed for merchant Frederik Birch, who in 1850 set up a trading post here with royal consent from King Oscar. Selbusjøen Hotel & Gjestegård opened its doors to the public in 1988. We endeavour to be aware of our cultural heritage and to nurture the historical and the authentic, and in so doing make Selbusjøen Hotel & Gjestegård a good place to be. As our guest, you will find a space to breath away from your busy everyday life, in the forest, on the veranda, or by the lake.

Located in the Trondheim area, near Værnes Airport, Selbusjøen Hotel & Gjestegård is a perfect accommodation choice, whether for conferences or holidays and leisure pursuits. The hotel lies by Lake Selbusjøen, near road 705, which connects the E6 highway at Stjørdal with the mountain town of Røros. An appealing option on your trip to and from the North Cape.

Activities/special features:
Trout fishing in Lake Selbu, close to a 9-hole golf course, large park with ”skotthyllbane” for traditional bowling, rowing boats, barbecue area by the lakeside.

Other details:
The hotel has four modern conference rooms for up to 120 people. Dining room, lounges, fully-licensed bar.

Open: The hotel is open all year round.
Closed at Christmas and New Year.
