Vertshuset Curtisen

Restaurant in Halden, Østfold

Vertshuset Curtisen and the Commandant’s House are located in Østfold’s and Norway’s most stunning fort with a history stretching back hundreds of years. Carl XII met his destiny here, but today life at the fort is peaceful.

The inn can accommodate 36 people on the first floor and ten in the wine bar on the ground floor. We have a fixed menu, but are often asked to put together a to five-course menu with wines.

The Commandant’s House is situated outside the walls of the fort but with easy access. Elegant and regal with a magnificent view over Fredriksten fort and the golf course. The building accommodates up to 55 people in one room, or approx.
120 counting all the rooms.

Type of cuisine:
Vertshuset Curtisen is a member of the ‘Regional matkultur ’ culinary network in Østfold/Akershus and at taches great importance to regional products. We are constantly on the lookout for new local suppliers, wi th the emphasis on
traceable,seasonal ingredients.
