Activities at Walaker Hotel

Outdoor activities:

Hikes to Molden (1118 metres above sea level) and Solvornsnipa (1032 metres above sea level) are very popular. You get the most breathtaking views of the fjord and other villages from these peaks.

The hotel rents out sea kayaks and large canoes. You can set off on a seal safari or try to spot porpoises playing among the waves.

Hikes on the Nigardsbreen glacier, the largest glacial arm of the Jostedalsbreen glacier. Experienced guides take you up onto the ice.

Visit Veitastrond, a tiny village nearby the Jostedalsbreen glacier, to learn how to make white and brown goat’s cheese.

Urnes stave church is on the opposite side of the fjord from Solvorn and Walaker Hotel. During the high season, a boat crosses the fjord to the church every hour.

Rafting on the Jostedalselva river.

Horseriding. Available in Solvorn, with treks up onto the mountains. Exciting and interesting adventures for all ages. Total of 6 horses.

Indoor activities:

The hotel has its own art gallery, Galleri Walaker 300, with paintings and prints of local and national artists. Large gallery with 3 floors.
