Selbusjøen & Geotourism

Since 1850, the Havernesset property in Selbu has been a busy site and is now home to Selbusjøen Hotel & Gjestegård AS.
The hotel opened in 1988. We work hard to preserve our cultural heritage and to safeguard all aspects of the hotel which are genuine and have an historical value – making Selbu Hotel & Gjestegård a fascinating and pleasant place to stay.

Photographs on the walls of the hotel tell the history of the site and the village.

Unspoilt mountain and forests in Selbu

Skarvan and Roltdalen national park consists of what is practically untouched mountain and forest, typical of Trøndelag region. This is the largest unspoilt area in this region, and contains a number of interesting cultural monuments, particularly in relation to the operation of millstones. Trondheim Tourist Board has set up waymarked trails throughout the national park.

We focus on cooperating with local companies when providing activities for our guests.

Among the companies with which we cooperate is Nea Elveeierlag who organise canoeing trips on the Nea river.
