Activities at Lysebu

With our proximity to both city centre and the great outdoors, we provide the perfect base for a wide range of activities. These range from walks through forest or fields, trips to Oslo for shopping and visiting museums, or a visit to one of Norway’s most popular attractions, Holmenkollen ski jump.

Outdoor activities

Lysebu is 500 metres above sea level at the gateway to Nordmarka, with a vast network of waymarked paths and tracks. You can hire a cycle in the summer and take a cycling trip directly from the hotel, carrying with you a luxurious picnic bag which we prepare for you.

In the winter, the most popular activities are cross-country and downhill skiing. Here you are free to choose from a fantastic range of slopes and trails. Or if you are not a keen skier, you could try “Korketrekkeren” or the Corkscrew – the town’s most popular sledging hill. The Corkscrew is two kilometres long, running from Frogneseter to Midtstuen station. Lysebu has a number of well-used wooden toboggans which guests can borrow.
