The Swiss chalet-style main building was erected in 1898 by timber merchant Gabriel Block, for use as a summer residence. Kronen Gaard became known for its good food, hospitability and sociability. It was a meeting place for family and friends, and the warm and informal atmosphere of bygone days still pervades the premises.
