We aim to safeguard our unique and genuine traditions and keep them alive. We aim to provide a pleasant arena for both guests and staff. Local requirements: We aim to provide a meeting place for the entire town – a place where the locals can come to celebrate. We also aim to be the perfect host for business partners for the town’s industry – to provide the best possible setting for courses and seminars.

Activities:
- Tour of Sjøgata – a lively street with shops and galleries. Northern Norway’s oldest adjoining collection of preserved wooden buildings.
- Cooperation in order to promote/strengthen activities on Sjøgata and the rest of the town. Unique and genuine adventures and experiences.
- Create a profile for the town as a place of real character.

Food:
- Present traditional and modern dishes created using local ingredients.
- Make active use of local small-scale suppliers.
- Tell the history of food – where the ingredients come from – the origin of the recipe. Have a history to tell.

The hotel:
- The special history and character of the place.
- Conscious preservation of the historical, using the old in a functional style.
- Develop Norway’s first hotel museum in what is most probably the oldest building on Sjøgata.
