Fefor Mountain Hotel opened in 1891, and was in 1903 the first resort hotel in Norway to offer winter sports. In the 1920s and ’30s Fefor was indisputably the leading Norwegian mountain hotel. We still offer high quality, a cosy and intimate atmosphere in our old wooden buildings. The hotel is now undergoing refurbishing. This work will help to enhance our historical background through the furniture, textiles, lighting and colours that have been chosen. In 2004 the hotel will become the most distinctive mountain hotel in Norway.

Fefor is located in the mountains, 930 metres above sea level, on the Peer Gynt Way in the middle of Peer Gynt’s kingdom, and centres its operations around experiences of Norwegian nature and culture.

Magnificent location, ideal walking terrain with well marked trails. Outdoor activities in the hotel grounds, in the woods and on the banks of the great Lake Fefor. Tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming baths and a squash court. 630 km of ski trails, downhill slopes and a floodlit ice-skating rink.

Activities /special features:
Various cultural efforts based on the Peer Gynt tradition and the rich folklore of the Gudbrandsdalen valley. Dogsled driving, snow-shoe walks in the moonlight, rafting on the Sjoa River and kayak trips on Lake Fefor and Gudbrandsdalslågen River. It is centrally located for trips to the Rondane and Jotunheimen mountains and the fjords of western Norway. Rental of skis, bicycles, canoes and kayaks.
