Grosch has a wonderful historical setting in what used to be a branch office of the Bank of Norway and now houses the National Museum of Architecture in the Kvadraturen district. The restaurant has been named after architect Christian H. Grosch, who designed the building for the Bank of Norway's branch office in Christiania (old Oslo), built in 1828. Savour delightful seasonal dishes against a beautiful architectonic backdrop, where the light, modern interior is framed by whitewashed cross vaulting ceilings in wonderful contrast with the red brick floor. For the summer months, guests can move outdoors to the sunny cobbled terrace to enjoy lunch, light dishes and refreshments. Grosch is available for private parties and can seat 20-70 persons or up to 180 persons for a more informal event. This is the perfect location to celebrate the start of summer, company events, private functions and Christmas parties.
The menu centres around Norwegian food and includes lunches and light dishes based on seasonal ingredients. Guests can choose from sandwiches with exciting fillings, light dishes, a soup of the day and a fish dish of the day, and desserts. Grosch also caters for larger events in the evenings, with a varied menu which is customised to individual wishes.
